Fort Collins, CO – The Colorado Ice are pleased to announce the signing of a pair of former members of the Northern Colorado football team. Patrick Walker and Chuks Nweke will be in training camp with the team starting on February 11th.
Walker is a 5’9”. 190 pound wide receiver from Long Beach, CA. Walker comes to the Ice after a prolific career with UNC where he was a three-year starter and broke NFL receiver Vincent Jackson’s school records for receptions in a season and in a career. Walker’s senior year was his best season, as he hauled in 84 catches for 1,171 yards on his way to being named a third-team FCS All-American. His finest game was in 2011 against North Dakota, when he had ten receptions for a staggering 315 yards, setting both a school and conference record for single game receiving yards.
Nweke is a 6’1”, 203 pound defensive back who is originally from Colorado Springs. He played in 33 games in his career with the Bears, racking up 66 total tackles, 3 interceptions, and 2 tackles for losses. Nweke graduated from Northern Colorado with a finance degree in the spring of 2011. Nweke was named to the Colorado Springs Gazette All-Area 1st team as a senior at Cheyenne Mountain High School prior to enrolling at UNC.
