Fall 2008 Internship Opportunities
Gain experience in professional sports by becoming an intern with the Colorado Ice, Northern Colorado’s professional indoor football team. Interns are needed in many areas and during many times of the year. The Ice are members of the United Indoor Football League and will play their third season at the Budweiser Events Center beginning spring 2009.
During the season, there will be a need for several more interns. More information and opportunities for spring semester will be released closer to that time. The Ice are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated interns for the following three un-paid positions, lasting until mid-December. All interns need to be available to work at least 15 hours a week, with potential for some events during nights or weekends. An intern must be very organized and have a great attention for detail. These internships are designed to be hands-on training in the world of professional sports that will create immeasurable experience. - Operations
- Needs to be versatile, very well organized and able to work effectively and efficiently.
- Will be working closely with the Head Coach/General Manager of the Ice.
- Some tasks may include: contacting players and coaches, communicating with the league on certain topics, creating and maintaining databases, sustaining relationships with sponsors, filing insurance claims and assisting all office staff with miscellaneous administrative duties.
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs.
- Marketing/Media
- Needs to be a self-motivated, organized and outgoing individual that portrays a professional demeanor.
- Some tasks may include: writing press releases, communicating with media, organizing and attending promotional events, researching and booking appearances for the Ice, designing and creating fliers, filing information, inputting database info, updating the website, gathering and researching information and assisting with other miscellaneous office duties.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and experience with others such as Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign and PageMaker a plus.
- Sales/Promotions
- Needs to be a personable and professional individual willing to contact individuals over the phone.
- Some tasks may include: assisting clients with season ticket renewals or sales, contacting potential season ticket holders, creating and organizing databases, answering phones, organizing and attending promotional events, researching and booking appearances for the Ice and assisting with other miscellaneous office duties.
- Proficient phone and customer service skills a must, as well as experience with Microsoft Office, and must be very well organized with attention to detail.
