Colorado Ice Sign Three

Fort Collins, Colo. – The Colorado Ice professional indoor football team (3-6) announce the signing of DB JJ Billingsley, DB Terry Washington and OL Jake Gable.

Billingsley is a Colorado native and played defensive back in eight games for the Colorado Ice last season (2007). He had 31.5 tackles and recovered two fumbles. He was a four year starter at the University of Colorado and earned CU’s Lee Willard Award, Honorable Mention All-Big 12 honors twice and was ranked as high as 9th in the nation at safety.

Washington, from St. Louis, Mo., attended the University of Colorado in 2005 with two years of eligibility left. He played in every game at CU and led the team both seasons in special teams points.  In high school, Washington was an All-Midlands selection at Cleveland NJROTC in St. Louis and was named to the All-League first team three times.

Gable, originally from Papillion, Neb., was a three year starter at the University of Northern Colorado and started all games his senior year (2006).  He was named an honorable mention All-Big Sky selection and a 2006 National Football Foundation All-Colorado second team honoree. Gable also earned All-Great West academic honors his second year at UNC.  Gable also earned All-Nebraska honors as an offensive lineman at Papillion-Lavista HS.

Colorado will close their three game home stand when they host River City this Saturday, May 17, for Military Appreciation Night.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.  The Ice will hit the road next week against the Sioux City Bandits. The game is slated for Saturday, May 24, at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT
