Colorado Ice Lineman Inks Deal with CFL

Fort Collins, Colo. - The Colorado Ice professional indoor football team
(4-6) announces offensive lineman Ross Weaver has signed a deal with the Canadian Football League's Toronto Argonauts. Weaver will participate in training camp before the first preseason game on June 19 against Montreal. Toronto finished first in the four-team East Division, but fell to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the East Final game.
Weaver, a Parker, Colo. native, played five games for the Ice last season
and four this year. He also tried out with the Arena Football League's
Colorado Crush in mid-June of last year. Weaver played four years for the
Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, moving from tight end to tackle his freshman year. He was also a three-year letterwinner and honorable mention All-State selection for Ponderosa High School.
Colorado will hit the road this week against the Sioux City Bandits. The
game is slated for Saturday, May 24, at 7 p.m. CT/6 p.m. MT. The Ice will
visit rival Billings Outlaws on May 31 at 7 p.m. before returning home for
the final two regular season games; June 6 at 7:30 p.m. against the Sioux
Falls Storm for Hometown Heroes Night and June 13 at 7:30 p.m. against the Wichita Wild for Fan Appreciation Night.
