The Colorado Ice professional indoor football team (4-8) will host the three time United Bowl Champions and division leader, Sioux Falls Storm (10-2). The Storm and Ice will kick off at 7:30 p.m. MT Friday, June 6, at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo. Colorado looks to even the season series record with Sioux Falls winning the first meeting between the two teams back on March 17. This week’s game will be offering free tickets to any one attending the game that shows a valid Windsor ID.
The first meeting was at the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls. This was the Ice’s second game of the season and it was a tough game. However, the Storm doubled the Ice up winning 48-24. QB Steve Cutlip led the team, going 10-for-19 for 146 yards and two touchdowns, spread among WR’s Mike Jones, George Hill, and Eugene Reed. Travis Garcia tallied 14 total tackles.
Garrett Mehl was the leader of the team on May 31 against Billings. He was 11-for-17 for 156 with 2 touchdowns. George Hill also had 5 receptions for 81 yards and 1 score. Thomas Smith led the defense with 8 tackles. Billings came away victorious in this game, 76-46.
The Ice will close the season with a regular season game at home; June 13 at 7:30 p.m. against the Wichita Wild for Fan Appreciation Night. There will be a tailgate starting at 5:30 that will include 97.9 Big Country. They will be giving away prizes at their truck.
