Colorado Ice Name Richmond New General Manager for 2008

The Colorado Ice, Northern Colorado’s professional indoor football team, announced today the naming of Josiah Richmond as the new General Manager.

Richmond played wide receiver for the Ice during their inaugural season in 2007.  However, when the position of General Manager opened up recently, Richmond felt he could help the Ice more off the field.

"It was a tough decision, but I think that it is a positive move for myself, the Ice and the fans. Being a former player, I believe that I have the trust of the players and that I know what they want and exactly what they go through during the course of the season. Which will better enable me to ensure that their needs are taken care of." Richmond said."I am excited for this upcoming season and for the fans to see the level of talent that we have collected! Building a relationship with the fans and the community is a top priority for this organization. I look forward to a great year."

Appointing Richmond to the position was an easy decision for owner Danny DeGrande.

“It is exciting to promote our own people and continue to grow the Ice family from the inside,” DeGrande said. “To have someone so completely dedicated to the success of the Ice and its partners is the best thing for us.”

With the season quickly approaching, Richmond will take over as General Manager starting immediately.

The Ice will play seven more home games at the Budweiser Events Center this season, beginning with the regular season opener game April 11, 2008 against the Billings Outlaws. Season tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 970-472-0128.
