Fort Collins, CO- The Colorado Ice announced on Friday, December 19, 2008 that University of Kansas (KU) DL Wayne Wilder and Ice QB Josh Brewer have been signed to the 2009 Ice roster.

The 6’3” 295 lb. DL Wilder was a key addition to the KU (Jayhawks) defense and will be a strong addition to the Ice’s defensive line.  Wilder started in all 12 games his senior year at KU and made an impressive 38 tackles (12 for loss), 5 sacks, and 12 quarterback hurries.  “Wilder had a solid career at KU and brings good size and strength to the defensive line,” stated Colorado Ice head coach Collins Sanders.

The 6’2” 210 lb. Ice QB Josh Brewer returns to the Ice after having missed the 2008 season due to personal leave.  Brewer played nine games for the Ice during the 2007 season, filling voids at defensive back, receiver, and quarterback and posting nine solo tackles, three assisted tackles, one pass break-up, one 7-yard interception and carried the ball twice for 22 yards.  Brewer suffered a shoulder injury late in the 2007 season, missing the final games of the season.  Before the Ice, Brewer played a combined six years at QB for the Fort Collins Starz, Northern Colorado Wolfpack, and the Mile High Grizzlies. Brewer is a graduate of Greeley Central High School and an alum football player for the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with a BA degree in Communication and an MS in Sports and Exercise Science. “Josh has been part of the Ice family from day one. He is a great leader and team player. We are fortunate to have him back,” said Colorado Ice Head Coach Collins Sanders.
