University of Colorado (2008): Spent the first half of the season atop the depth chart at fullback, eventually dropping to second, but still saw scrimmage action as well as time on special teams.  He caught four passes for 21 yards on the season, and was seventh in special team points with 11; those came on the strength of 11 knockdown or springing blocks on the kickoff return unit.  One of the inaugural players selected for a Gold Group Commitment Award, and was named one of four team captains in a vote by his teammates near the end of fall camp.  The coaches selected him as the recipient of the Jim Hansen Award for outstanding academics following spring ball, and he was also the Iron Buffalo Award winner among the running backs for hard work, dedication, toughness and total poundage for spring strength and conditioning.  He was CU’s official nomination to the AFCA for its Good Works Team, which recognizes those players who go above and beyond in performing community servive.

University of Colorado (2007): Played in all 13 games with three starts, including against Alabama in the Independence Bowl.  Used primarily in a blocking role on offense.  On special teams, earned four points on the strength of a tackle inside-the-20 and two knockdown blocks.   

University of Colorado (2006): Saw action in all 12 games, including five starts, at fullback as well as some special teams duty as well.  Primarily used as a blocker, he earned his first career start in the sixth game of the season (Baylor), and was the starting fullback the remainder of the year. 

University of Colorado (2005): Saw action in four games, including the Champs Sports Bowl versus Clemson (no starts), all on special teams; he also appeared in the New Mexico State, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M contests. 

University of Colorado (2004): Redshirted

High School : As a senior team captain, he was an All-Midlands performer by both SuperPrep and Prep Football Report, with Rivals.com rating him as the No. 9 overall player in Iowa.   SuperPrep ranked him as the No. 47 player overall in the Midlands (the 5th linebacker), while PFR tabbed him No. 74 overall and as the 11th ‘backer.  Lettered four times in track, twice in wrestling, and once in swimming.
