Spring/Summer 2009 Internship Opportunities
Gain experience in professional sports by becoming an intern with the Colorado Ice, Northern Colorado’s professional indoor football team. Interns are needed in many areas and during many times of the year. The Ice are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated interns for the following positions.
Unless otherwise noted, all internships will begin in January and last until at least the beginning of July (possibly through August) and will be unpaid. All interns need to be available to work at least 15 hours a week with the possibility of some nights and weekends. Game day operations interns are required to work all home games.
All interns must be very organized, have a great attention for detail, be professional in demeanor, and be personable. These internships are designed to be hands-on training in the world of professional sports that will create immeasurable experience.

- Game Day Operations-- POSITION FILLED
- Needs to be versatile, very well organized, personable and professional, able to work effectively and efficiently, an excellent problem-solver, and good under pressure
- Will be working closely with the Director of Media and Community Relations
- Tasks may include: coordinating and executing promotional activities, promo set-up and tear-down , video highlights, graphic design, pre and post-game parties and events, assisting cheerleaders and the mascot, and interacting with fans and players
- Proficient with all Microsoft Office programs
- Graphic design experience a plus
- Must be able to attend all home games
- Football Game Day Operations -- POSITION FILLED
- Will work closely with the ICE coaching staff to assist in non-coaching, game-day related tasks
- Tasks may include: being a contact liason for visiting teams, shooting and uploading game film, assisting with player paperwork, and interacting with coaches and players
- Must be able to work all home games (Saturdays)
- Graphic Arts/Video -- POSITION FILLED
- Must have experience in graphic design and video editing
- Tasks may include: designing and building the Colorado Ice website, creating graphic designs for Ice publications, creating and editing graphics for game-day video displays, video editing, assisting with game operations equipment including video and sound
- Creativity, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure a must
- Marketing/Media -- POSITION FILLED
- Needs to be an organized, creative, and outgoing individual that portrays a professional demeanor and has excellent communication skills
- Will be working closely with the Director of Media and Community Relations and the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Sports Marketing
- Tasks may include: writing press releases, communicating with media, organizing and attending promotional events, researching and booking appearances for the Ice, designing and creating fliers, filing information, inputting database info, updating the website, gathering and researching information, and assisting with other miscellaneous office duties.
- Proficiency with all Microsoft Office programs and experience with others such as Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign and PageMaker a plus.
- Sales
- Needs to be a personable and professional individual willing to contact individuals over the phone.
- Opportunity for sales commission
- Tasks may include: researching and executing potential sales leads, assisting clients with season ticket renewals or sales, contacting potential season ticket holders, creating and organizing databases, and answering phones
- Proficient phone and customer service skills a must, as well as experience with Microsoft Office, and must be very well organized with attention to detail.
