In the 2011 season, Knighton completed 57% of his passes for 2,188 yards, 43 touchdowns with just 13 interceptions. Knighton finished 5th in the league for touchdown passes and had the 2nd fewest interceptions of any quarterback with at least 40 touchdown passes. Knighton also showed his athleticism throughout the season rushing for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns; placing him 2nd on the team in rushing yards. For his stellar season, Knighton was named the 2011 IFL Most Improved Player.
