Ice lose to Danger 73 – 50

Fort Collins, CO – The Colorado Ice give up a loss to rivals the Nebraska Danger. With the Danger scoring on every possession of the game, except for their last possession, when they took a knee to end the game 73 – 50.

The Ice started off fast keeping pace with the Danger in the first quarter. Then in the second quarter the Ice defense had some miscues allowing the Danger to take a lead into the locker room 53 – 39. Wide receiver Justin Helwege (88) had 3 receiving touchdowns in the first half from Willie Copeland (13). Also, in the first half Kyle Kaiser (3) and Cordera Eason (28) had receiving touchdowns.

To start the second half James Jones (8) had a rushing touchdown getting the Ice to 43 points followed by the PAT by Aric Goodman (9) giving the Ice 44. The Ice put up one touchdown in the fourth quarter with another throw from Copeland (13) to Helwege (88) moving the Ice to 50 points after a PAT by Goodman (9).

The Runza player of the game is Justin Helwege (88) who had four touchdown receptions and 94 yards total receiving. You can meet Justin at Runza of Loveland Tuesday night from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The next home game for the Ice is Sunday, March 17th at 3:00 pm. The Ice will be hosting the Green Bay Blizzard for the first time.
